BOC and Volkszone - Gas Offer

Glad you got through. It took a couple of tries for me too. I forgot to write down Gary's surname, but once you get through it's very quickly sorted. Much easier to ring HO and get the deal than ask agents imo, as I'm still not sure all the agents know about the deal. My local agent wasn't aware of the Volkszone deal or the 2l bottle deal which is on the BOC website.

Just rang garry on the number listed a few posts ago, apparently if you already have the argoshield deal your account is set up with volkzone pricing and the argon will be automaticaly charged at volkzone price without having to phone! Good stuff

im considering getting the BOC Y Volkszone Offer

so can anyone tell me the exact price as it is now at the moment so i have enough

Price the other week was:

£25.60 plus vat for the gas (Y size, 20litre bottle)

£37.40 plus vat per year rental - you get back the balance if you return it early, as I understand it.

£1.31 plus vat Environmental charge.

If you already have a BOC account it takes a minute to switch over. If you are a new customer it would take a few more mins to set up an account, but I don't see why it can't be done over the phone with a credit card.

I got mine set up a few weeks ago and didn't even need a credit card. The chap (who has apparently since left BOC) set me up by email; I turned up at the dealer and switched (i.e. on a switch card) the gas charge and got a bill for the cylinder rental through the post - sent them a cheque.

BOC do seem a very straightforward company to deal with.

Katie has moved to another part of BOC, but Gary on the same number, 0161 9306234, was really helpful and in a matter of a minute had my account moved over. He was great and is happy to deal with any queries or issues on this deal.

Well, I'm in as well
Gave Gary a bell on the number above, helpful chap, sent my details through to the new customer dept. and they emailed me the necessary forms within the hour.
Rates have changed slightly (there's a surprise) but you can save a couple of quid if you opt for Direct Debit billing.
I was after straight Argon but Gary says I can also have Argoshield at the group rate. He also quoted me rates for Oxy/Acet which I've left at work, all I recall is £50 a year rental, per bottle!

i contacted gary today to get this account first started up i was quoted after i got the whole lot wrong in the first place lol

i asked for the volkszone offer as stated via this forum gave details of address and telephone details requested and email address

35.40 for gas

as i asked for co2 not realizing that its a mix of gas is the offer i was asked what i was welding so gave details 3/5mm steel
was told by gary that its a mixture of argon / co2

im still waiting for email to fill account details but so far not recieved them as of yet thoe might not have correctly written down email addy or typed it out so may have to enquire once more tommorow

Spoke to Gary, it took about 2 mins to change over to the offer and he even asked if I had seen it on the mig welding forum

When I rang and switched I think I asked his permission to mention his name on here. He was fine about it so I did. He's very helpful. I only wish I had got the VZ deal from the start, instead of wasting time with the smaller canisters. You don't realise how quick you can get through gas just practising.

i spoke to gary as i quoted other day filled details out over phone was contacted day after by a phone call as i cant remember my mobile number so use a parents phone to call

spoke to a lady from boc gas and all she tried to do was offer me an offer from boc gas all im wanting is the volkszone offer sorted out rest of the details out and an email was sent out filled in and returned monday

ive heard nothin from boc gas at all so unsure if i can go to boc and get a bottle of the volkszone offer so i can properly start to learn with the right gas and then able to weld using it

ive checked the email address and it should have arrived at destination as i never click on reply via an incoming email

Have you paid anything yet? I am assuming you are starting from scratch with a new account, not switching over from a different BOC deal. I think I paid up front for the canister then paid in the supplier when I collected the gas. If you are paying by direct debit you have to sign the dd form - is this what the email was about?

I am sure if you ring Gary he will let you know if your account is set up and ready to go. I agree though that the agents do not seem to know about the VW Zone deal. I get my gas from the BOC shop next to the head office and they didn't know about it. But once you are on the deal, you shouldn't have a problem with the supplier. I must admit I find the invoices and paperwork from BOC a bit confusing - just make sure you get a folder and keep all the stuff together.

I would just ring Gary and ask if your account is set up and ready to go now.

Where are you located, Gaz? If you say, I am sure folks on here will name you some local BOC agents that are good to deal with.

the email was for a first time new account with boc gas nothin has been paid yet as i had to return the email first to them

i can pay up front via my card via a telephone call to boc and then collect bottle form boc supplier/dealer is near thornton rd bradford or i can go in person and pay over the counter

but i will try gary and enquire with them tomoz to see if the account has been set up or not

from the paperwork i got the first 2 was yours to keep, the second 2 was to be returned to boc via the return email, and the 5th one was the to set up dd with boc gas

email was there and quoted upon as the 28th/11/2013 but wasnt showing up in the email section until day after why i dont know

i have the new argoshield light bottle as collected it yesterday the boc department wasnt aware of the offer either from the agents within the department

i forgot to update this one as recieved an invoice from boc still owing 7.48 as i paid cash over the counter after first arranging with boc for a new contract with them 2 payments made 32.29 and another payment of 37.40 was made into the account after the other gas amount

though i did find out that the company people at the one i visited had never heard of the boc y contract had to check and everything was above board please note not all boc agents are aware of the boc y offer at head office until you have a contract and go and collect from the agents with your approval letter and contract number

Accounts payable have sent me an 'outstanding balance' invoice each year after I've paid, which I tend to ignore now This year I received a letter with a receipt, which was nice
