Had to go to A & E at 04.20 this morning , my hand had swollen up like an inflated rubber glove & the pain woke me.
After a few minutes of arriving forewarned by the MIU people yesterday they took loads of further blood samples to see how the infection has developed since yesterday. It's increased a fair bit , they thought I might have some broken cats tooth in the wound , so I was taken away for x-rays .... Luckily I don't any tooth in me .
Numerous people came to see me over the next seven hours , the inflammation has reduced but is still bigger than the pretty drawing , 13 .15 hrs more liquid pain killers , released to come back home , keep the sling on and check my blood sugars every few hours .. it looks like things are on the mend . Had things been different or if it flares up again It'll be back in for a minor operation where it will be lanced in the area of the worst bite wound then irrigated to wash out gunge then on a drip for few days .
Being a type two diabetic I was also given breakfast and a hot cup of tea at 08.00 hrs to stop me having low blood pressure & low blood sugar problems .
Have just had a sound gonk, knocking out Z's like an old chainsaw according to Alison
As an aside the A&E doctors in Carmarthen all said a cat bite that draws blood is nearly always worse then a dog bite that draws blood .
