When cats are like that , they are supposed to be the harbingers of premonitions .. don't buy any green bananas or a lottery ticket just yet ...... type premonitions . .

Today after about 10 weeks I've finally managed to make a fist and hold a dining fork in my left hand since Jasper the cat bit me hard & deep in the back of the hand .
The A&E people said it would take time to heal despite antibiotics & be very painful ... they were right on both counts especially the pain thing . There is still a small swelling and sloughing off of dead skin ( a bit like peeling sunburnt skin ) .

For jasper I've stapled a 20 x 10 inch strip of carpet round a 26 4x2 " bit oak scrap and screwed it top and bottom via well counter sunk holes and 80 mm long screws to the wall ,.
Bottom end about 250 mm from the floor for a scratching post . Got him to use it by putting a morsel of cat chew he likes on the top and encouraging him to jump up to get it so he clings to the carpet . Three or sour short training sessions and he uses it daily un asked leaving the settee , dining chairs & curtains etc . alone .
We've had him for about 10 months , last month I had io renew the carpet on the scratch pad as he'd well & truly wrecked it .

If Jasper had inflicted that bite on me, I'd have stapled him to the wall.......(only joking, before !)
