Sadly I would agree with the above - but they do stop the pain - and anything that stops the pain is good.

You can use almost boiling or very flipping hot salty water as a mouth wash, eases the pain in the short term but helps kill the abscess…but the route cause needs fixing
Im similar mines upper right 6 missing……got my Mrs to translate the above but she wouldn't put the nurse uniform on to do it!
I think you'll find that comes under "extras"

My ex wife was a nurse, my in betweeny was a dentist, and the current wife was an oral theatre nurse, before going into dental practice management, then adult teaching.

I was once asked to wear my uniform by an older woman, before I married the first nurse. Being young and impressionable I obliged. The gold braid did the trick!

I moved to an NHS dentist when my original dentist went private only. What a mistake to make it cost me £300 (10 years ago), when i went private, for a grind flat, fit a post and a synthetic tooth fitting after the NHS apprentice damaged the tooth. The difference for 2 check ups a year NHS and private is about £100 a year, which is a bargain. Also if you have a medical problem i find it a good idea to research which hospitals locally have a good reputation for that particular ailment, even with NHS there is an element of choice.

Do you have a local dentist hospital you can register at? I got good/great treatment ( modern equipment & supervised young dentists) at my local dental hospital.
I've also had good service from young (under 30) dentists, and painful times at "experienced"(over 40) dentists.
Age is no guarantee of good service, young isn't always a disadvantage. Be lucky !
