Why not just add a second heater matrix?
The engine is making heat that is currently being dumped.
You have to run the engine for that though.
Diesel heater is instant and works independently

Stick it inside the shed and just run the exhaust outside would be my choice, the combustion air intake can be from inside the shed. They aren't that noisy only a small fan and the ticking of the fuel metering pump.
from reading its about 1 to 2 litres per hour could be more all depends if it on high or low
theres charcoal heaters and rocket stove heaters
ive got a brick built shed so i can use a rocket stove system 11 x 9 and its too warm with what i have in there
I did read in the specs of the Chinese one that 0.64 litres per hour was listed. I’m assuming that is running it full bore.
yes had that issue with the one I fitted, the pump used its std bracket and was noisy I wrapped it in foam IIRC and the exhaust was little noisy too, in middle of the night, a little silencer sorts that £70 ishjust watch where you fit the fuel metering pump as they vibrate so can be annoying if your sleeping near it,

I want a heater that can be on whilst driving in my motor home?
I need to have the best of both worlds, I want to run it whilst driving but also when parkedWhy not just add a second heater matrix?

Hi just a quick comment..
they draw quite a few amps on start-up (all makes) and if your vehicle or boat has a slightly low battery, or thewires to the heater have any dry joints or corroded battery, fuse, switch or breaker connections, then the heater won't flash, may also develop a fault code inits ECU, "return to authorised service agent" and all that palaver.
You need good thick wiring to them, clean fuel, and make sure the exhaust isn't blowing back into the van..
Edited to add, they do use leccy, and are perfectly capable of flattening your battery overnight!
1.5mm2 is fine unless you have a stupidly long run of cable, as for dry joints/corroded connections etc well no electronics likes poor connections.Hi just a quick comment..

I never fit a fuel filter to a diesel powered heater, just a dip tube that finishes an inch or two above the bottom of the tank so you can't drain your tank by running your heater, ideally you should stop muck getting in your tank in the first place rather than filtering it as it comes out. The pump isn't very powerful but that's deliberate to try and minimise the electric requirements.Weirdly , if i add a fuel filter it has an error code and doesnt fire, take the filter out and it works fine
Thanks I knew we had to have a collector amongst us
I have been offered a 24v one cheap could I just use a small step up tranny?
