I've ridden a motorcycle for more than three days, I passed my test in 1981. If you want of category of road users who have my disdain then it's motorcyclists in the highlands of Scotland in the season.

And a smaller group in that category would be the tail end Charlies in a group trying to keep up with their mates just before a blind bend. You want to throw yourself in a ditch then crack on. Please leave me out of it as I don't need the hassle nor the paperwork.

I live on the edge of the Kielder TT route…as a motorcyclist of the vintage a few years before the RD250lc, it amazes me how some of these idiots survive….you obviously have the same bunch visiting your twisty roads.

The 'Cat & Fiddle' route in Derbyshire takes some beating. For a motorcyclist it doesn't matter whose fault a collision with car is .....the end result is the same. If motorcycles had just been invented, similiar to tobacco......would they be classed as legal on the roads?

My car can easily do 250 miles between each charge - but I don’t. A full charge could cost as little as £5.50 and charging can be done at night while I am asleep.

Yes, public chargers might be 80p per kWh, but I rarely need to use them. I could usually look for a cheaper option than that. It can charge 20 to 80 per cent in about 20 minutes but I’ve yet to need to put in more than about 40kWh at a public charger.

My dad used to do that, in his old Volvo, nothing to do with the vehicle, he was just a super cautious driver. He could be at a T junction in the middle of the Nevada desert, with 2 light years visibility in every direction, and he'd still come to a full stop and look specifically in both directions before pulling out.

I ride almost every day, fairly sedate rider, and it amazes me how fast almost every other bike on the road rides. It's almost like they do have a death wish.

A sunny Sunday afternoon in the summer and the roads are awash with morons on super-bikes doing twice the speed limit, overtaking in droves in utterly ridiculous places, it almost embarrasses me to ride sometimes.

And sadly these over cautious types are more likely to pull out when its not clear! They were the biggest problem and danger when riding motorbikes. With EV's becomming common its likely a lot worse now.

Where we live DAPPH pollution from cars & "noxious fumes" aren't really an issue though.
Also as you know, our Welsh Govt isn't spending money on roads (& said as much - their intent is for us all to walk or cycle!) & their "ideas" are effectively ruining the country, not improving it!

After a pot-holing (in the roads) visit to Devon I don't think our roads are bad at all. Cetainly in Gwyneddd and Powys.

Even 35 years ago there was a marked difference in the road quality & mtce between us & Powys.
I used to drive over the Sugar Loaf into Powys in a 7.5 tonner weekly, and the difference in road surface, potholes, snow clearance etc was night & day as you crossed from Carmarthenshire/Dyfed over into Powys at the top.

Now, our roads are disintegrating. Ineffective patching which doesn't last weeks, and not much else. Roads here now are in poorer condition than they've ever been since I got on the road in 1980.

Yes ...I seem to remember...I do the A470 run quite often to N. Devon and it does get a tad worse southbound. Often wonder where the vehicle tax goes...my £320 and t'other un at ~£200 (Sorn due)

When I read up on it...there are things that users can do that will degrade the batteries....but I was reading that a typical battery might give 300k-400k miles worth of charges so I'm really not going to worry too much about it.

Had a young numpty with L plates on riding his baby motorcycle standing up on the pegs with his arms out stretched like a flying angel about three months ago as he came tearing up the long hill that runs past our house.

Such a waste of life ..it seems he topped himself by trying to argue with a 14 seater mini bus about 500 mtrs from here two weeks ago ,

The gentle regen charging in a battery of 30 to 80 % charged is advised in my Citroen Berlingo electric as ideal effective charging be it over run regen or braking regen .

If you look on You Tube there are numerous videos about even small amount of damage to the battery can cause the car to be written off as a new battery is almost as much as a brand new car !

I think this phenomenon might (at least partly) have something to do with the Demographic that drive certain types of car?
My motorcycling taught me to pay extra-special attention when behind cars like Citroën Berlingo's, Fiat Doblo's, people carriers etc - any car that's the antithesis of a petrol-head or "drivers car". Not cos the car was incapable, but the drivers tend to have no interest in cars, & none in driving - & put little attention or focus into how the drive.... basically poor drivers. Also a lot of older drivers. Some of these types will now be menacing our roads in an EV.

I've been riding bikes since 1973 (have 5) but previously had a Berlingo and now drive a Doblo MPV (also got a Skoda Roomster, UMM Transcat, Mahindra MM540 and Marlin Roadster).

Ah . . . but if he hadn't stopped at that STOP sign in Nevada, you can be sure a traffic violation would drop through the hotel door before he left . . . There would be a camera/helicopter/plane somewhere just to get the one person a day along that road . . .
