Are you going to split the air pipe so some of the draft goes up the flue to encourage draw?
I think it helps to reduce smoke when the blowers not full on the tuyere for heating the work.
just get the fire bricks out of nightstorage heaters free. i chucked 30 in a skip last month
Wow, it's looking really good, can't wait to see if it leaks though.
Have you tried Crosslings? They usually have a good range but can be a bit ****-stingingly expensive.I'm starting to get itchy feet wanting to play as its so close but I'm struggling to find suitable fule localy.

Ahh sorry I thought you'd mistyped "flue". Not sure if they sell coke. It's been a while since I lived that way but Lambs in South Shields always had a good range. No, didn't know they sold coke, ile give them a try.
Every ware I've been try to sell me something completely useless.

You make your own coke.
Buy some high calorie coal ( Welsh steam coal is best ) make a small fire bed in the forge with kindling and paper and gently blow it , add small broken coal ...just three or four double hands full . Watch the blower ..... don't go silly ... burn the coal till it starts to turn to coke and then drag it out the heat to one side using the rake and the shovel
A bucket or so of coke on the side of the forge ash bed made like this allows you to get working and adding more coal as you work to keep up your coke stock .
Sparkplug are you going to put a big bore sight glass in a protector case in the bosh tub ( water tank ) or use a copper ball cock float & painted rod through guide rings as a float indicator so you can always easily see how much water you have in the tank ?
Remember even though you have a water jacket , a good thick layer of fine ash over the to the fire pit stops the steel burning on the outside so makes it last much longer . Bring the fire a few inches forward of the tuyere nose also help keep the burning down.
I do like that massive lump of metal you have for the nose ....lets hope the heat transfer to the water is good enough to stop it melting
