Had a couple of hours prepping for some epoxy primer this morning.

Decided to grind out the stupid amount of filler on lhs rear quarter and see what state it was in!.

Was a bit fed up but my daughter came out to give me a hand which was nice!.

It's not the end of the world and to be honest was expecting a lot worse, near side was a lot better (no filler to speak of).

Arches are sound so should be able to make a half presentable job of it.

I think they plastered a load of filler on and got carried away..

I've got access to the back so might have a go at knocking it out but it doesn't need much.

Nice day on it today.

Brush painted my Epoxy Primer on (mixed 300ml), ended up doing under floor as well rather than waste it. Can imagine this stuff is a pleasure to use out of a paint gun.

Got a good thick two coats on ready for sanding.

Modified my Bubble Balancer to stop it sticking and re-checked my wheels (to be fair they were still cock on).

Car on it's wheels again hopefully for good now.

Me and my lad did a quick and dirty string alignment last thing, centered the rack and got it straight. Will be making some parts to get it bang on but at least wheels are now pointing in right direction!.

Wound in my Tesla jacking pucks and used them to lower back end down.

My lad said it looks better without the G60 arches and he has a point..

All progress, at least it's all water tight now with the epoxy.

Had a good look around rest of the bodywork and there's only a few rust blebs so on the whole happy days!.

Need to find some brake disks that don't rust..

3hrs last night with the thinners trying to remove all the blooming bitumen.

Same again tonight but managed to get 2 good coats of epoxy primer down on drivers floor so seat back in on Sunday hopefully!.

Same to do on passenger side but I have to turn it round first.

Welding buy torch light last year, painting by torchlight this year..

In from work tonight and decided to sort seat subframes (drivers mainly so I can turn the car round!).

Used some wood blocks straight edge and a mallet to knock them both straight and was a bit shocked at how easy they were to bend!.

I had planned on making a box section square to weld on top, or as some had suggested take the OEM rails out and remake the seat mounts and weld them to the body.

I've ended up using some 3mm thick angle iron (can't remember the word for it!), and cut sections to fit around the subframes, all ready to weld up in the morning.

I figured that I've used the same for my sill reinforcement and I can jack the car up from the middle of the sill (only did it once by accident!) so supporting 80kg should be fine..

I'll put 2 support legs on the front corners as well so instead of 3 points it will have 5.

Going to make some reinforcement plates for seat belt mount as well, belt and braces as they say.

Considering what these subframes cost I'm a bit peeved really.

Well it's taken a weekend to fit a seat, anti-roll bars and turn it round to do passenger side floor!.

I've also discovered some intermittent fuse box issues (brake lights and indicators) which is nice!.

On the plus side it started first turn of the key after being stood 2 months with petrol tank out so was quite chuffed with that.

Manual steering is hard work parking!, might end up doing a Corsa electric steering column conversion at some point..

Left the seat frame in bare metal for now, will dress and a paint both of them at same time (still got other side to modify).

Well into to nitty gritty now MOT coming up soon.

Learnt a lot about wiper motors fault finding a Wiper Parking fault (****ty N/C connection on Intermittent Wiper Relay).

Fuse box has had a dose of ACF-50 and then plenty of Dielectric grease plus a round of all new fuses.

Passenger seat subframe modified and welded (3 hours work on the bench), plus a lick of ZG-90 Black.

Front arches fitted and the G60 arch plastics on (MOT requirement).

3 hours with the thinners on passenger floor removing the god dam bitumen remnants.

Some finicky issues with headlights sorted out.

Another weekend gone!.

Onwards and upwards..

Yesterday didn't start well!, got to bottom of drive to get in it working spot and it wouldn't re-start!.

That was 2 hours repairing what the alarm installed butchered in my fuse box (why on earth would you cut a wire 10mm from the connector..)

Daughter came to help out all afternoon, she gave the car and carpets a good hoover, worked out how the interior went back together and seat belts.

My lad gave me a hand fitting door seals, inflating tyres, new exhaust hanger brackets etc.

Seems a different car with interior back in!.

Still got a load of wiring to do today, wheel alignment, trims etc and it's bloomin raining..

Well, got all my Wideband and MS1 ecu final wiring done, "sorted" fusebox wiring all neat and tidy.

Put it back in position and all trims on then back to square one!.

Been reading wiring diagrams most of the nigh to plan what to test.

Whoever made the wiring diagrams for Haynes wants bloody shooting!. Hard going deciphering one of those..

Wideband O2 sensor harness is about 3 meters long, god knows where I'm going to hide all the spare wire.

Great progress an nice to have your young uns getting involved Iv never understood this mania of cutting wires up close to connectors, seen the same sort of thing with pipes cut off to short joining an upright, so that replacing their bodge becomes that much harder, uneseccary work due others not thinking

Been wiring all morning at work, will be at it all night as well buy the look of it.
