I have just purchased a Boxford Lathe

I went through the "what to oil with" conundrum last year. I got through two cheap ones very quickly, first worked for general oiling but couldn't push it through the ball nipple things and the second only lasted a month before it started spewing oil everywhere under pressure against the nipple.

in the ned I went for reilang, very good quality and pumps out at a good pressure to push the ball in.

Once you buy a lathe/mill/grinder or whatever, then the real spend begins. It is an insidious non-stop haemorrhaging of money. It never ends, there is always a new "must have" on the horizon, a new cutter a new parting off tool a new chuck, whatever. I am pretty lucky, my personality is such that I can wait and something always comes along at the right money. I have a "new" multi position bed stop for my Harrison, they are a very reasonable £375 plus the vodka new, I spotted this at an auto jumble and gave £35 for it. It was missing a small part but I made that. I have a lathe, right?
I have no use for the bed stop right now but there is no doubt that a job will come in sooner or later then it will have been a good buy. I will make my £35 back in time saved. And for me, that is the bottom line, Time. For others it is a hobby and they don't need to make the machines pay and their time is their own.
Buy tooling carefully, the Boxford is a lovely machine for home use, streets ahead in build quality, than for example a Warco or many other Asian imports, but it needs tooling. That is where you are right now. I would get some stuff in the chuck and start learning if I was you. The more you know, the less you will need.

Thanks I am just waiting on the overloader then I can fire it up and start learning, I am sure I will have many questions. I have been told I need a parting off tool to go with the bits I already have.

A mill.

any advantage with that over HSS

You don't need to sharpen them. The geometry is always correct. I've used tool steel blades over the years, with some success, but these you just don't have to worry about. Make sure they're set to height and square to the workpiece and plug away. I can use a pretty heavy feed with the 3mm on tough steel and get away with it. One proviso, you do need a rigid tool post. I went from a piston type QCTP to a wedge type, the difference was dramatic.

The head stock would have had screw-down greasers.

Easy enough to make something up.
I bought some of these to cut up to replace mine. I had the end caps though.

I am missing one scrapper and cover and the 2 nipples are the nipples for grease or oil
