Were they not bakerlite or something on the boxford. He says that I should not need felt pads behind them. Hum I find that hard to swallow

Or was that just the covers.
Felts great. Holds oil and lubricates as you move. Guess your link keeps the swarf out. Might be possible to get some felt behind then
Knew there was something about bakerlite. Thanks for clarifyingNo, they were always felt. Some guy on eBay started that Bakelite story to justify selling 3d printed solid wipers.
I reakon I can get a piece of felt cut and wedged under these printed onesNo, they were always felt. Some guy on eBay started that Bakelite story to justify selling 3d printed solid wipers.
Wipers - easy enough to make yourself. I made some for my 280 out of thin stainless sheet and felt. They used to be plastic but get very brittle and Boxford have gone back to felt for them.
Thanks matePM your address, I have some left over you can have a bit of.
mr seadog does your have oil nipples here too
ah i see the type u fill with grease like the ones on the motor bearingsNo, they're screw-down greasers. You're supposed to give them a turn every week or so. Similar to this
Precisely.
Not if it's full. Hydraulics at work. Would assume you pump grease in first to fill the tube then pack the pot and twist occasionallyits a long way down to the shaft for grease to drop,
