I have just purchased a Boxford Lathe

I had a tiny B&D circular saw. I used that to cut along the bend line to about half depth, it was reasonably easy to bend after that.

looks great my only issue is bending it nicely!

Score 2/3rds through with an angle grinder, makes it easy then.

No need to bend it screwed to the wall and curved it some thin steel my neighbour gave me a while back.

No, I don’t, I have never needed one, but if I did, I would get an ER32 one, because I already have a set of ER32 collets for my milling machine.

I have a ER32 set for my milling machine too. That is on a MT3 though. The lathe is a MT2

Drilled and tapped the head stock. Made up the carrier for the hinge. I thought I would practice with the tig without filler as it was 20mm steel. Could have been neater but I have not used tig for over 6 months .

I bought an R32 mt2 which I'll be able to use in either the tailstock or spindle should the need arise, which it hasn't yet. Matches that in the mill, so all my collets will be available for drills/cutters etc

Never thought about using it in the chuck before but yes one could. Do you use a different arbour for the chuck

Haven't tried it yet (other stuff to try to get out of the way first) but I don't think it'll be necessary - MT2 tapers all round.

Should have said that the chuck will simply be removed first - if it needs it, I can make a threaded rod to ensure the taper doesn't 'slip' in use.
