That may be because in your boxford you have a bigger lathe than my Myford Tri-Leva. Can't see that being the case though, maybe just the way things are?

A couple of things I would make different.
1. I would have the edge that is facing you come out as far as possible, in other words just inside the edge of the tray.
2. I would cut away the front so that it is not obscuring the chuck.

Depends on your point of view.
You can pass bigger stock through your headstock.

Consider myself lucky.
Spindle takes collets directly giving me full bedway
Also get an inch down the spindle.

Had a quick look the other day when Lee said 15mm. Sure it would have had a taper.

Well every day is a school day. I have often stuck material all the way through the head stock. I never knew or thought that it would or could be a MT3. But that is good to know. Makes sense I guess especially as I have the vertical mill attachments.

Made a start on the splash guard.

just need to sort the mill out now to mill a slot in the hinge too lazy to file it and it will make me sort it out sooner

It's on it helps but I need to extend the front as the coolant is dripping all over the floor it sprays under the guard and it also drips off the guard onto the carriage handle then onto the floor. I can't be wasting this cutting oil.

You could fit a sloping plate out the front on the swarf tray under the hand wheel to direct any dripping coolant back into the swarf tray.
Another option is a sloping plate above the hand wheel so that the coolant never gets onto the handle. That is assuming you have room above the wheel for it which from the pics it seems you do..

Where would one attach the plate to above the hand wheel? Would making the guard longer at the front edge not help.

Or do you mean attach the piece to the actual guard and angle it in towards the lathe

I was thinking on the saddle as arrowed and extending out above the hand wheel.

Or a short angled bit in the tray itself to direct anything back.
