I am printing a cotton reel stand for a friend. 5 hour print and lost adhesion at 1 hour. Probably me pushing my luck by doing too many prints on the same bed without washing and spraying. Giving it a service now before I leave it going overnight.

Sometimes I get the feeling that people like complicating their lives .
I use a tungsten tip in my battery drill & the 9 inch grinder to put a point on it. Sharpening it at both ends and having six or so in ready to go condition in a plastic box . Can't be bothered cluttering up my crammed mancupboard any more than I have to.

My fault. I duplicated one of the pegs in the slicer but didn't notice the fact that it was levitating obove the bed! No wonder that and the second attempt failed. All rectified now though.
It was a long print because it was designed as a solid structure rather than hollow, so wasted material and wasted time. If she doesn't like it, I will just design one of my own.

Yup. You load them in your software, which preps them for your printer specifically.
