Another failure now...

The coating on the glass bed has failed. I enclose photographs to show
what I was printing and the damage. The print was left to cool over
night and needed no effort to remove from the bed. I had used 3DLAC as
an adhesion promoter which is designed for the purpose.

These glass beds are expensive and I am not impressed at how short a
time this has lasted.

I think part of the reason the textured spring steel sheets work so well is it’s not a uniformly flat surface gripping the part. When i had glass bed i used a good amount of pritt-stick as an interference layer and even then it wasn’t a given that it would prevent a chunk of bed coming off.

Having a few issues with ABS printing. Two different prints both show faults and delaminate easily. The first print looks like it has a reasonable top surface apart from the scar. However the switch holder cracks easily. This was printed at 240/100 and 50mS.

second print was slowed down to 30mS, 245 and 110. Now the top skin is rougher and the lamination issue is still present.

both were done in the enclosure with a nice little fug up. Typical really, customer is nagging to get his car back!

I assume that the plastic protective film on the glass bedplate is just that and needs removing?
And that its not part of it?.. the chiinglesh manual makes no mention
Cant do much more as my filament still hasnt shown up yet

Yes, remove all the packaging!

Take off the glass bed and give it a good wash in hot soapy water, with a nailbrush. Rinse in hot water and allow to dry. Then don't touch the surface with your fingers when refitting.

Use the free time to ensure that everything is square and snug, I found that the bed bearings were slightly loose, amongst other things. Did you have a few screws left over?

I use a metric feeler gauge for setting the level, a 0.082mm.

I'm glad I've not fallen for one of these, I think the constant frustration [and having to deal with our Oriental friends] would drive me up the wall [further].
Could you ditch the printer and us the enclosure to start your very own

farm, for personal use only of course?

ABS warps easily and I bet the switch holder warps and then that causes layer adhesion issues.
Can you modify the model to bulk up the bits that are breaking or add gradients in material thickness changes?

Mine came with enough to print the cat or dog models preinstalled on the sd card.

I have ordered what claims to be a Borosilicate bed for £20

The price shot up on the one I got when I went off piste with the size, opted for bevelled edges, custom chamfered corners etc.

Yes, the gearbox can get up to about 90C at times, so anything else will warp.

Yes that might be useful. Enclosure gets up to 50C ish at full chat, so no additional heating required.

I can do that of course but that is applying a plaster to the wound rather than healing the wound! I have just changed out the nozzle and checked the filament path etc, so a test PLA print in progress.

As an aside, I have a custom calibration cube which was posted to Thingiverse then taken down immediately after I saved it. If anyone else wants the .STL? Some sort of concentric circles and globe tests.
