Shocks won't change the ride height unfortunately. If one side sags it's either shot spring/s, or poss springs on wrong side (they're handed).


Don't know much about para's someone will be along soon no doubt. They seem to give a height boost, might need new longer shocks. Drove one and didn't like the way it leaned out on corners, but was a lot softer and nicer ride on the road.

What are the springs like, lots of them have really fecked springs on them, so anything is better. I put parrots b00locks on. Amazing difference, my road would shake the ltwt so I couldn't see, it's fine with parrots b00locks. They are softer but it might be closer to what they were meant to be, closer than the rusted cart springs on most landies.

My first landy was a very altered 2A, I hadn't ever looked at one so had no idea what was stock. It had single leafs all round, with coil overs as well on the back, worked fantastically well. Several people tried to clone the suspension, we thought the springs were either CF or tranny, their suspension worked but not as well as mine.

Do pablobic springs make a hude difference and how hard are them to change?

Parabolics are easy to fit and give a more comfortable ride, but you have to fit matched dampers with them.

Funnily enough the first time I tried them was in your neck of the woods, a friend who lives in Kendal fitted them to his SIII

Good idea! they're normally rusted solid in the bushes.

I got them on ebay, I only paid 25 quid for them. From paddocks they were only a tenner a pair more than the normal springs.

Make a simple extracter with tube and piece of allthread, worked on our old IIA

update on progress. oil changed done and new sump gasget. now leaking less oil and sounds a lot happyer. have taken the heater apart to find out why the fan would't turn the resistor for low speed had rotated and was blocking the fan blade. since it is off will clean it all back and repaint the joy of haveing a sand blaster at work. have striped the headlight surrounds down with nitromos and have sandbasted them down. found a "small" hole in the rear chassic near the missing bump stops so thats next weeks job and that will help sort the 2.5 inch lean out. and for the pikeys amound us yes that is a roll of copper sheet

Look how small those heater matrixes are! No wonder there's not much heat to be had out of them.
I'd always assumed the full heater box was filled with hot water in a matrix but obviously not.

It wouldn't be a Land Rover if the heater actually did anything!

I liked the heater control on our old IIA, a brass tap on the engine block, turn it on in the winter and off in the summer.

The heater works better than the round smiths[Got some pics of the clips to keep the doors closed by any chance?], I am fine with the heater, if you need more get an arctic heater. The only problem I have had with the heater was the fan had cut through one of the wires to the resistor, not that I would complain if the inlet tubes were an inch longer.
The chassis are usually rotten above the bump stops. I should pull mine off and check them, I repaired above them ten years ago.
