I had a similar experience with the cordless drills. They had a gap in the display and a price sticker up for them, but no drills. Went on the usual pilgrimage around the shop trying to find someone to ask if they had sold out. Luckily i bumped into the manager and asked him. "Not out yet, we have not had time". Anyway he sent a minion off and he came back with about six of them and put them on display.

Difficult to sell things on a pallet in a warehouse where no bugger can see them.

I actually went back for a grinder that I forgot and thought it wise to get another charger, so I’m slightly over 200.

considering Mikita, you wouldn’t get much in comparison.

orbital sander, alligator saw, drill, grinder.

3 4ah batteries, 2 chargers with 2ah bats. Some discs and a couple 75mil knotted brushes.

Im going to my local lidl now. To ensure I dont buy too much Im running there with just a back pack, 5km each way Might get sander.

Mate picked up 2 grinders and 2 batteries.

One for each of us. Made sence as no point in us both going there.

Will be fine for bits and pieces to get outta trouble.

I was in the local lidl too. Two of the 4 in 1 welders, a generator inverter, impact guns and a few other bits and bobs, screwdrivers etc.

Any of the corded nibblers in any of the lidl's ? There was one in the local one, but i dithered and someone else got it. Any use ?

I'd quite like a nibbler, just to save getting the grinder out and keep the dust down a bit but do I really need one? Of course not!

I used to have a hand nibbler, painful thing to use! Been meaning to get one of the drill attachment types. Im not sure there is any advantage on a full size tool version?

Cycled long way to lidl past screwfix, picked ip a 10m air hose. Lidl had grinders, sabersaws, drills and all the gardening bits and a ton of batteries. The "pruning" long arm chainsaw is tempting if I had anything to prune! But no sanders So I got some drill bits, they are a split point grind.
My dad wanted a hair trimmer, which is why I went, they had some last week, didnt realise it was a beard trimmer. So if anyone can recommend a decent cheap cordless hair trimmer?

Bought a great little Phillips clipper kit in Argo's a day or two before the lockdown landed on us. Its rechargable, comes with a selection of blades for hair trimming, an adjustable blade for beard trimming, nose hair thing, and another tiny blade, about 1/2" wide, and a little brush. 35 euros, so i reckon about 28 pounds in the uk.

Used this last week probably did about 2.5M run in 1mm zintec it was a bit slow going and the 2hp belt drive compressor had to re charge the receiver a few times but way faster than using tin snips.



An electric one would have been a bit faster but would have still make thousands of little metallic toe nail clippings that get everywhere.

Edit: Milk, bread, rusks, fish cakes. None of it Li-ion powered.

Sevenoaks Lidl had loads of everything in btw as far as I could tell.

Got the grinder, 4ah battery and strimmer this time.

To add to the impact driver and circular saw I already have so works well.

Recip saw - why I don't know...
Bit set - looks decent stuff
hss drills and another 4ah battery - bit committed on the batteries.
Most useful thing so far....battery box, fits 6" vice jaws perfect

I would never buy a cordless trimmer again. It only cuts when it's plugged in.

Got an old 18V B&Q Performance Power hedge trimmer here. £24.99 years ago. Nicad I think. (The same price as the bare Ferrex Li-ion one I've just bought on a whim).

Tbf it's been outstanding. The last of the tools I need to make a Makita adapter for but its fighting me all the way as the "female" bit of the casing where the battery goes in is so irregular.
