You may be right. I do find it rather disconcerting though many experts with education and letters after their name get ignored and she gets headline billing at climate shows.

All i will say and its backed up from actual evidence that the air quality around the globe began to repair itself during bird flu lock downs when most of industry shut down and automotive travel was drastically cut.

Droughts in Africa, hard times in Europe when there were issues growing sufficient food. But Covid did show air quality fixing its self, so maybe stopping flying bus loads to conferences would help.

Big difference between air quality and CO2 emissions. Our air is far cleaner now than it used to be. Like it or not woodburners definitely chuck out far more particulates than lorries or cars.
I do worry about climate change and I do think CO2 emissions are a big culprit in this. However I am a realist and don't believe in token gestures to make people feel good!

When you think about it has air travel actually help mankind, personally speaking i think it has brought more problems than solved. Mass unrealistic moving of cultures to other lands...illness and diseases that can be carried and spread in 12 hours from the other side of the planet...pollution by the aircraft themselves..unspeakable killing during wars by dropping ordnance...the list goes on.

When peopoe talk about the UKs carbon footprint compared to the rest of the world, they conveniently ignore the footprint we create by our overseas activities and all the carp we buy from these countries, a lot of the carp is impending landfill.

To be honest, knowing some of the experts personally... It's just as well that there's people like her acting as communicators.

Being extremely clever does not necessarily equip people to be in the public eye, or give them the skills needed to give a good speech or write an op-ed that will persuade people to care about something that's not an immediate part of their daily life.
