No idea if EVs caused or made this fire worse but no doubt many were sadly destroyed as a result - so those African children down the cobalt mines better start putting in some extra shifts to get them replaced asap.
I run a car repair workshop - I'm struggling with insurance for dealing with PHEVS/EVS - no inside charging - spacing rules for damged EV's - level 4 training.
Plus the cost of invertors failing on customers cars out of warranty - is killing the job dead.

I am an auto electrician by trade - as an independant - I ebraced the EV revolution early - but to be honest - it's not that good business wise. Apart from the increased tyre wear EV's suffer - but there is no money in selling sets of four's for low mileage cars to unhappy punters.
I am thinking about standing back from EV's - workshop wise! Punters think they run on air! And they just don't....

I would not - could not afford to run one - last decent LR product was a Freelander II.
Last LR product I owned myself was a late Disco 2 - 54plate TD5 - low mileage nearly new motor - was in my workshop more than my punters cars.

Gonna take more than a few fires to regenerate Luton.I think its just phase 1 of the regeneration of Luton, start at the top of the hill and burn it all down, you know like those wildlife fires when you get all the pretty flowers pop up out of the ashes?

What a total blot on the landscape they have been. WOW. It must be upsetting a few people on the Islands and mainland. And whats up just now is just the start.
It's about 70 miles offshore I think and will bring good engineering work to the UK and produce oil to the highest safety and environmental standards in the world. We all need oil and will do for decades, so let's do it properly.
