There is two of them. They are for the adjustable clutch bands so you can adjust them from outside thankfully. If you look at the picture you will see the adjustment screws. The two massive bull gears are basically back gears.

Thankyou hermetic. I could take it down more but my plan was to tidy it up...and as pete mentioned I can turn it down a fraction when the machine is up and running.

Clean a part . Polish a part.......before I start the assembly I did remember to re drill the hole. I drilled it off centre as not to take any more off the inside edge.

Wasn't really feeling it today....but got a few bits done. Second clutch band and mounting. And the second bull gear. The bull gear has a ring gear that I did have a couple of attempts at removing solely for cleaning purposes but I decided to clean in situ mainly because I didn't want to damage the gear of hub. Just a little more sorting to do.

This morning I checked to see the clutch operation. Well happy. Nice smooth operation.
