so i could use osb or ply ontop of the rafters then polystyrene sheet ontop of that membrane then 25mm batons then the tin. I can also use the loft type insulation in between the rafteres on the inside before i osb the ceiling

thats the problem I have 2 already but the more you have the more you do then they become full and you need another!
Any way the build is hard going but will be worth it in the end.
I will have this one organised as it is the first build I have done myself the other 2 were here when we moved in. They are old and delapidated need work but I can do that once the new one is built and I have moved stuff around. cunninly I will have a 3x3m open covered court yard to with this bulid

I am going to use unisulated metal sheets on the roof 1m wide 32 high box profile, do i need a membrabe under it or do i need to ply or osb the roof first?

the correct way is board then use laths to higher the roof sheets off the membrane

one following the rafters the other running across the rafters its to lift the sheet off the membrane to run water off the underside its to prolong the life of the roof sheets

however fitting it to the membrane is ok as long as your aware it can rust out in 20 years time

it is the correct way on high roofs but on single floors it can be easy access into your shed to a degree

the correct way on roofs is by laths on the rafters like the first picture but with 3x1s or 4x1s as the cross pieces

the correct way to install them

the lifespan of a metal roof is 50/70 years if everything is done correctly if not it shortens its life span

this includes cutting it right at edges with the right tools not a grinder and recoating the cuts with repair paint

screwing the screws in correctly there so many its your fault when youve done everything right in another words its years before it fails so you wont be able to claim against the company ...

what has been found in other areas using metal sheets is the same with tile roof but the sheets can rot underneath where it touches the breathable felt as it sweats there

That should be ok , the idea is I think to minimise contact with steel to wood , also to maximise aire flow, like I said there is loads of info on the Web , as shown on previous posts , the box profile is fixed in the valleys with proper fixings , lots of suppliers have fitting guides re spacing of battens it iirc max unsupported span is 1.5 m , so on a small shed 2 rows per side on a dual pitch roof would be fine ,it's all simple cos I managed it , good luck , post up pics as you go ,

put it this way the higher you lift that sheet up, the easier it is for the wind to get hold of it and rip it off

you could use 4x2s cut down to give the 1" lift dont forget use treated wood

be aware that method is the cold roof method above

use your knowledge and think what you could install to make the roof more safer in my case i had to do
