The pro's do it as well. Builder forgot to put in the doorway to my parents bedroom when building their house. Luckily my dad noticed before he got too high up.

I will get the 9" out when I get home and chop it out!
Plan to leave the bottom of the frame in over the gap and cut it out once the walls are erected

so where are the windows going to be fitted then? as cant see any window areas where they might be

2 nails are enough in the tops, 1 at one side 2 at the other stops it twisting on the noggins

how do you like the nail gun then ?

i bet you wont be parting with it that easily now since youve used it and dont lend it out either

oh i hate center doors there ackward to plan out properly prefer a door to the side as you can get longer pieces in when you need to store them

as well as better planning for what is going in them and where to fit them i also like a double window at front where door is but thats me

No windows mate the windows take away from storage which is why this is being built.
I love the nail gun. I will treat it to a service after this build. The center doors had to be that way for ashtheics walk way through the raised beds and under the pergola.

I only put one nail in the ends and 1 either side on the 45

There is still a bit of movement but I am thinking all the weight is goingnto be down on the studs

Once you board the frame, there will be no movment.

what is the best way to notch the rafters for the roof?

alternate is easier to fit in the roof area

or all in a line makes no difference when fitting roof noggins

its only to stop the wood twisting

it comes down to when your fiting boards where you can have issues i prefer a 3x2 on its side to fasten a board on the alternates

but you must remember this when fitting the roof beam noggins get it wrong and your boards wont line up to your roof noggins
