See if you can get a trade card at b & Q, do you have room for a ton bag to be dropped outside it would be cheaper, or easier still see if you can get pallet of pre bagged delivered to curb ,must be cheaper by the ton ? same with cement if you by quantity you get discount.

I have a trade card yes mate and a wickes one, wickes want a big delivery fee BQ dont charge. I think Id sooner pick a bag up at a time it will be easier to park on the drive and shovel it out of the truck

Hi,

Be careful not to overload the wheelie bin; a couple of light trips are easier than a heavy trip.

This was an 80' tall tree one of two I felled; each cut log was so heavy I rolled it down the garden to the patio then I could use the wheelie bin to wheel it down to our driveway saving a great deal of work; I could lay the bin down and roll the log in then lay the bin down to roll the log out; thinner branches cut to about 4' long could be stood on end in the bin and moved; I doubt the council would like their bin being destroyed by overloading but with a bit of common sense no harm is done. Do you use plastic bags for disposing of rubble or garden debris and have trouble loading the bag? Take one old decent sized bucket; remove the handle and cut away the bucket botton; smooth the cut. Place the bucket now a large funnel into the bag the bag on the ground and start filling the bag as the funnel fills simply lift it bringing the sides of the bag with it working like this until the bag is full; it works a treat especially in windy conditions and with garden debris whilst costing very little. Sorry to hijack this thread but I've used the councils wheelie bin and the bucket funnel for years.

I used sbr and cement, then spray foam stuck water resistant insulation on that, then the membrane that I put down under the founds, went a foot up over the wood frame, then back filled with the few tonnes of rocks I dug out, I don’t have many pictures, you can see part of the wall here

Interestingly I have just had someone from the planning department come around as there has been a complaint,

Measured heights it and was quite happy it was within permitted development.

maybe it will be tight through the front door though, maybe I will have to shell out on the 25KG bags

get a wheel barrow and wheel it that way as i did it that way myself first few is tip it into the bulk bag the higher you get you will habe to shovel it but can be done quicker that way

how do you think i got mine through the house the same way wasnt dropped off from the back i wish it had been dropped off from the back over the wall

It’s under permitted development which the planning officer agreed, so no planning needed.

It’s 1m from the boundary, and the eaves height is 2.5m, with the overall roof height under 4m

On mine the overall roof height is 3.5m as it’s got a 25 degree pitch

Great I just 're read the rules I have to have mine under 3m and 2.5m as it is a single pitch roof.

Spent today putting some shelving in the storage shed.

Slabs need a good clean, look awful, some sort of disease on them. We’ve only been in the house ten days though, so not got round to it yet.

I might put another shelf under the window yet.

I am.thinking my shed needs to be 3.8mx3.9m then it can go closer than 1m to the boundary. Just need a foot of son to get behind to paint it

I did my usual trick of messing up the plan, and made the top shelf an inch too low to fit the majority of my boxes underneath. It would be no real drama to unload all the stuff, undo a few screws, raise it an inch..... but I probably won’t.

Go for it, but for me it’s going to be storage for all that stuff you like to keep but don’t want to see, a few tiles, bricks and my plastic cement mixing board, and the odd bit of timber.

It looks the same as i have used many times before and it was great on my shed and garage build
