Here's my own side by side comparison of my little toy and my daily driver and a Freelander 2 is not 'that' big a car!
I'm amazed that you can copyright a number sequence. I'm not seeking to start a forum argument, just expressing genuine surprise.Oh, the 911 bit was because it was actually originally a design number with a zero in it. After they had produced a few, Peugeot legaly reminded them that any car production number with a zero in the middle was copyright by them. So it was shifted to 911
There are a few of the pre 911 cars in the states, slightly more collectable.
Very nice.View attachment 452933

I seem to recall reading that it's a "gentleman's agreement" rather than anything legal. Lots of Porsche part numbers start with "901" because there was the intention for it to be named that way, but I also expect that Porsche might not have wanted their new sports car to be confused with a Peugeot just as much as Peugeot didn't.I'm amazed that you can copyright a number sequence. You seem to be right. Wow.View attachment 452943View attachment 452944Not sure that it is photoshopped.
It's more a measure of how lardy the population has become. Not my picture, just shows how much cars have grown.

The original Twingo had something about it, the later one nothing..One of the causes I been told is the rather irrational decision that crumple zones now have to be outside of the passenger compartment.
How big is a Twingo compared to an old Mini? How big would an old car of comparable comfort and performance to a modern MINI? Are we doing the usual thing thing of comparing two mostly dissimilar vehicles? You know Allegroes and Cortinas were crap compared to BMWs of the same era.

The most ridiculous sight I saw was when the company director's Jag was in the workshop and he took the daft little Fiat 126* down into town to collect a couple of work colleagues. The car drove into the workshop and four burly blokes got out of it. You'd swear there couldn't have been enough room inside for them and some folding of space/time must have happened.Point about the original Mini, is that you could seat four adults.
Remember that - we had six 20 somethings and a guitar in one and used to get three in a Bond Bug - seriously overloaded really and sure of a pull these days.Well remember many of us stuffed into Minis heading to and from pubs
