Aye, and I agree but you can hardly blame the fast food folk for the actions of their customers. It's a generation which has been given to think that 'someone' (unspecified) will clean up after them. I blame lazy parenting.....

I'm sure I've read that McDonalds actual have staff who clean up litter outside their premises.

Absolutly agree, bad parenting and schooling . laziness and couldnt give a attitude, contagious in families ,this countries a disgrace re littering, its embarrasing.

I didn't say where it was....I used to put my dog's poo down the loo in the suburbs. I didn't gift wrap it in plastic and leave it for the binmen. Out and about off the footpaths. In the urban areas different matter. People on beaches bag it and leave it if no bin.....mind blowing.

On a different tack I wonder quite a lot about all the resin being used these days.
It's become a fashionable hobby/craft thing, but presumably it's basically oil derived, and not biodegradable.

All these table tops being routered flat produce waste that can no longer be put in the hamsters cage.

They are waiting for the dog crap fairy! My garden is bordered by a footpath known by the kids locally as dog **** ally. Dog walkers will bag it & hang it on my fence, I put a notice up one time saying “the dog crap fairy doesn’t come down here” it still happened.

Indeed, Then there is my own trade Boatbuilding, I trained as a wooden boatbuilder but there was precious little work in that line round our part of the world.
I worked in grp boatbuilding & repairs for many years, It is staggering the waste.
American naval architect Eric Spongberg wrote a prophetic article 20 years ago in Professional boatbuilder magazine entitled End of life boats, He reckoned 94% of all the grp boats ever molded since the late 50's are still around & i can well believe it.
A car can be shredded & everything recycled but a boat? When the hull & deck are made from a material that has no value & can quite easily hang about for centuries what do you do with them all, Practically indestructible & all but impossible to recycle into anything cost effective. Most go into landfill.
Go to any boatyard or yacht club, canal or river & you will see the scale of the problem, abandoned plastic boats festering away in corners.
Our club is no exception, as the membership has aged so the boats have deteriorated, we now have 30% of the yachts on our site effectively derelict & unused.
All the ancilaries, engines, sails, wiring, spars, fittings, ropes corrodes & wears out, leaving them utterly uneconomic to restore to use.
Yet some still think they are worth money. The reality is old end of life yachts are worth less than bugger all.

Shame I only deleted the recording yesterday, but I'm sure the Guy Martin energy programme raised that point and they have changed the blade making process to something 'greener'

I think in some parts of the US in housing communities it's compulsory to register your dogs DNA...basically makes the owner of the poop traceable!

Why is it so many plastic barrels, jugs, and other items crack apart after a few years outside ?
Plastic sheeting as well.

There has been a lot of research on recycling GRP products & there are several workable solutions, Even though Thermosetting resins are hard to do it has been done with pyrolosis & iirc a Swedish plant was built. Other way is using it as feedstock for cement manufacture where the resin is burnt off to fuel the reaction & the glass mixed into the concrete.
Using ground up GRP as filler isnt a good solution, It uses a lot of energy to grind the stuff up & you end up with a product often contaminated with toxic paints like antifouling, Also it contains unreacted peroxide catalyst which may create a substantial fire risk due to spontaneous combustion.
End result is a ground up low grade filler that is often several times more expensive than virgin new filler. Which may explain why people are reluctant to use recycled stuff.

I am out in Florida at the moment. Plastic bags galore. Walmart seem to be on a mission to use as many as possible. Plastic cutlery, cups you name it.
Energy and water saving unheard of. Nothing stopping me leaving the lights and aircon on all day in my hotel room.
Energy dirt cheap over here and they don't care. Mercedes and many other companies looking to switch manufacturing to the USA due to cheap energy costs.
Why is little UK suffering just to feel holier than thou?

...on seconds thoughts milk will probably be banned soon anyway so that's solved that one !
