I love that film. It's amazing how many of Nascar greatest drivers come from the deep south but I guess that's because it's origins is in running moonshine. I'm not big Nascar fan but I would like to go to Daytona just to see the spectical, it seems to be the equivalent of going to Monaco.

It's funny how we all know how staged entertainment is these days but it's not a new thing, back in the 90s I worked at a kart track owned by to ex stock car drivers. They fitted the normal profile back then, one also owned a body shop and a breakers yard the other had a garage. They toured all around europe with stock cars and they said even many years before that if a high profile driver was due to run a new car they would be paid to rig the old car so it caught fire in a crash at he end of a meeting.

There is a pretty wild looking car running round my home town, wide arches, tyres, spoilers... and a crazy ‘Hot Wheels’ paint job all over. I’ve not managed to get close up to it yet.

My first car was a Tartan Red Clubman. I learned soo much from that car the biggest thing? the impotance of learning to weld( though the best you could hope for in those days as a HomeGamer was a buzzbox)
