You can still be prosecuted as a private individual, just that the charge would depend on what damage you do.No but you only get prosecuted by the HSE if you are.

I don't know about "Y'all", but I'm only filling 1 lb containers for myself.Do you only cause an explosion if you’re in business?
Yes, I’m aware of that and my comment was a bit tongue in cheek - as the original post was obviously to point out that things can go wrong even if your experienced, not necessarily about the prosecution side of things. No but you only get prosecuted by the HSE if you are.
I don’t really have any input on this, I was just pointing out that simply highlighting the prosecution part completely misses the point about the guy causing an explosion…I don't know about "Y'all", but I'm only filling 1 lb containers for myself.
And I don't keep any size of container of propane indoors.
My storage where I keep them is un heated, and the bottom of the siding is leaky enough
to dissipate any leakage (you can see light under there).
Twas not directed at any one person.I don’t really have any input on this, I was just pointing out that simply highlighting the prosecution part completely misses the point about the guy causing an explosion…
If your competent and happy to do so then carry on.
that looks good , can you vary the flame , I know they do varios models ,which one is that? cheersIf you're not up for refilling cylinders, you can always make up a hose and run the little Bernzomatic torch off a big propane cylinder.

The hose is at full cylinder pressure, which could get "interesting" if it pops!! Have you something like this fitted:If you're not up for refilling cylinders, you can always make up a hose and run the little Bernzomatic torch off a big propane cylinder.

i cut one open to look its a safety valveI think there's a basic regulator in the top of the MAPP bottle. If you cut one open there's a "stem" which protrudes in from the outlet. Its bigger than I'd expect for it to just be an outlet valve or a check valve.
Doesn't look very regulator-like to me:I think there's a basic regulator in the top of the MAPP bottle. If you cut one open there's a "stem" which protrudes in from the outlet. Its bigger than I'd expect for it to just be an outlet valve or a check valve.
