Erm...these were from Toolstation I seem to remember. Set of 3.
That's the 16 and 24 knackered now!
Good job. Looking at the hole I can't see why that was such a bastid to drill
Toolstation? Did they have blue packaging with white lettering?![]()
Hope tomorrow doesnt see you go through the gas pipe......![]()
Where was it in Kent they buried the plutonium............Haven't got gas, or main drainage here. Leccy and phone are overhead. Oil feed is underground but miles from where the trench will be. Unexploded ordnance is a distinct possibility though...
Mole grips to locate a bit of bolt in the grove on the SDS drill bit , clean out the hammer head , put hammer head on the drill , clip the bolt bit & moles on the drill use hammer head as a gentle slide hammer . A bit of water running in the hole as you use the slide hammer might also help to get it movingNo. Did cross my mind. There is though nothing for the "hammer" to slide up against.

Glad you are sorted, you certainly had a couple of problems there!
In a long hole where it's already damp/wet it's worth washing out the muck and dust with water even to the extent of trickling water into the hole to keep the dust as a watery slurry , keep bringing the drill out the hole with slurry on it and wash it off before putting it back in the hole .Live and learn. Bought the 1m bits years ago but not used them. I've never, either, drilled through solid concrete at this depth.
Pretty sure I've used masonry bits before going up in small size jumps but that was likely only through lightweight block walls.
A hard lesson to learn this one as that is the only place I want my cables coming in!

Are you serious, I hope not, I was joking..... I know nothing, as someone from Barcelona saidDo you mean the Cold War Blue Peacock program when they tested the nuclear landmine casings in the gravel pits near Sevenoaks? (Near me... )
Or all the radioactive cr@p buried near Asda in Gillingham?

I had a similar job putting in a new entry for a new domestic water supply in our self modernised bungalow & a heavy below the ground STWA cable into the garage ( but no stuck SDS drill games ).

I did mine. Luckily only thin strip foundations where I had to go through. That was hard though. I even did a drawing:
