that looks an excellent and useable tool, I like the worn/little paint look ,or green ! nice.
I have one of this type of vice on the benchWoden 180 No1 pipe vice. Feels a bit rattly... needs a proper going over but not broken and will be a nice addition to the Woden family I’m building

The mine is forged and 3" one
For the hell of it, despite being posted elsewhere
You really love that one, don't you .
Posh Aussie woodworking vice, $640 AUSD!
Nice, and " I do like fine tools ", but oh my, for $640.00 one would at least expect radiused corners on the outside face of it to prevent nasty cuts. Not only that, the shaft being aluminum is inevitably going to get nicks in it, so there goes your dust seal, and when oxidation will take place, there goes your shiny finish. I've had aluminium vices, and still have one somewhere in my storage unit, but personally, I don't think this posh one would stand the real world test of time like Record wood vices for example, which like my 53E are obviously stronger and have a much more useful capacity; and if the jaws were chrome plated, would look just as nice in a preppy wood shop.

This arrived for me today.
This one I will be keeping.
Why do I have another Record 74?
Simple.
This one I got.

The cost of finding the missing parts and finding them was proving to be expensive, so I sold it on. I turned a nice profit on it.
The first one.

I didn't like it, but after I sold it on to a MIS member I realized I wanted one my self. So I was on the hunt.
Today my hunt is finished.
But what colour is the original or do I paint it they way I want?
Many thanks
The 634 in Scotland sold straight away I'm afraid and now I realise what one is I'd really like to own one myself!
I might part with my Record 114 if I could find a 634 in good condition out there to replace it
My main interest for years has been anvil collecting but I reckon I could get into vice collecting too
