Parramore was the Foundry that cast parts for Record Vices. Then when the Germans flattened Record Tools. Parramores started making vices under the Paramo nameParamo No 43 near identical to the Record No 21 - I have - both have 3"1/4" jaws and quick release.
Acid dipped it - cleaned up with rotary wire brush - coat of International Yacht Toplac paint

Probably 1940s........I think Record came back after the war as Record Ridgeway....still used the Record trade name thoughSo how old do you reckon the Paramo vice is?
It is have "1911" stamped on it - so someone pinched it from the MOD at some time!
Drum full of sand - 10mm plate welded to it - pipe vice and a small Record No3 vice mounted to it.
What a fantastic idea. I hope you don't mind if I file it away for my new workshop build.
That last one's cool, never seen one before. Looks like it'll hold 8 pins simultaneously but not a lot else.View media item 10891View media item 10890Heres mine, some of them are machinist vices and some are bench vices. Big green, pipe red and black one are from local scrap yard, green still had paint on screw, black one was broken in half but i managed to weld it with 7018, the special one that has plumber pliers was 80 euros, not 800 but 80, got it from a local machinist that worked in USA.
Been wanting the smaller 2" for ages but on the few occasions they pop up for sale they silly money. One day...Cheers for that, I did wonder where all your pictures had gone
I've not been up to much, only vices I've bought are the Parkinsons swivel jaw (think I posted that here) and a 2" jaw Swindens that's missing one of each jaw insert.
How's yourself?

Nearest design I've seen to that one is a Sevo machine vice. That last one's cool, never seen one before. Looks like it'll hold 8 pins simultaneously but not a lot else.
There looks to be a name plate on the top of the vice ?……………………………………………………………. the special one that has plumber pliers was 80 euros, not 800 but 80, got it from a local machinist that worked in USA.
