Striped. Boiled in caustic soda, then washed down with a pressure washer.

Close up the casting details.
I hit it with a wire brush in an angle grinder.

Before anyone jumps up and down and goes mad about the vice is not safe and secure et.
It was only there for picture taking only.
Soderfors or Bofors?
Are they sitting tight, let them sitIve got a couple of seized vices - a v rusty Parkinson Samsonia & a Record 75 that isn't too rusty. I'm wondering what the best bet is to deseize them - I've applied liberal quantities of WD40.
I've cleaned up a Record 14 and a Record 112 in an electrolysis bath - but I had them in pieces first.
I'll be seeing a friend who has a serious press over the weekend - but unsure whether I should do more chemical / lubrication before some gentle pressure......
And on a related subject - I prefer jaws that bolt through when it comes to removing them. But I've got a Record 74 where the jaw screws screw into the vice body. The jaws are not too bad - although I'd prefer to remove & clean them whilst painting the vice. Any tips? Or am I just tempting fate in the shape of a sheared screw.......?
Thanks in advance for any suggestions!
