May I ask how you intend to fit a new reel of wire?

It looks like it maybe an awkward and irksome task, especially if it is a 15kg reel of wire you are loading up.

That's a very good point, and not something I had thought about when I "designed" it. Ah well, I live and learn!
I may just move the MIG onto the top shelf and use the bottom one for future additions or holding rods etc.
If I'd have thought ahead a bit better, I would have made the thing so that the side cover could be swung upwards without removing the welder from the frame.
And yes, with 15kg of wire, it is kinda heavy! But hopefully I won't have to change wire too often.

Here's mine not as good as any of yours lol i need to change a few bits and thinking of having it power coated

I like this - especially as it's got more welding gear on it than I do! It looks industrial and it will last a long time.

OK I have one final update - I think it's now done. There are a few faults, which I would change if I did it again (maybe will if this one breaks).
You can't change the wire with the MIG on the bottom shelf. Doh! Schoolboy error.
I would have chosen bigger wheels, the 2" ones are OK for the weight but a bit small. OK for the garage floor but I couldn't take it "off-road".
I would have spent more time practising on scrap of the same thickness to save time on grinding.
The shelves are tie-wrapped on for now, I painted the damn thing before the mesh arrived and I couldn't bring myself to grind it off again. I'll probably weld the mesh shelves down in future.
I would never buy another SIP air grinder. It lasted 2 days, with lubrication.
Quite impressed with the service from "The Metal Store" co uk. Very quick deliver considering I'm in Scotland and delivery cost is reasonable (I have no affiliation to them, just used them 3 times now).
Oh aye, one last thing, I pimped it out with some 25mm square end caps from ebay and a fire extinguisher pop-rivetted on after I noticed it in a car parts shop and thought "gotta have that". Plus I'm a bit funny about setting fire to my garage.
My wife thinks I've lost the plot.......

Oh aye one last thing, I WILL replace the tie-wraps round the bottle with proper, beefy, heat-resistant chain. Honest. Sometime..... :-)

but webbing with a cambuckle stops them flopping about and scratching the paint...

As does a bit of foam pipe insulation slipped over the frame - well I'm hoping it does, that's what I'm planning for mine.

A suggestion, stick welder on the top, webbing strap over the top....saves bending down, store your bits and bobs on the bottom.

And if its any consolation, most women accuse men of loosing the plot at some stage....its normal

Found out today that my local 'Corner Shop' has this in stock, just shows you shouldn't always assume buying on-line is the best/only option [esp if you're rural].

Your welds look decent, perhaps if you champhered the joints, or v them, youd have less to grind off.

I built this a while back, & forgot to post pictures, and the plastic box with the papers does not stay there when I'm welding...

It's 1.5mm 25x25mm box section, and I can sit on the top shelf so she's strong enough.

Any colour so long as it's black

Triangle brackets to locate the cylinder, 5mm wire to hold the it, with garden hose over the wire to avoid tearing things up, tightened by a wingnut

Nice job, that combi colour paint mentioned previosly is very good stuff, use it on my truck chassis and still looking good 4 years later..I would recomend it.

Cracking job. Looks like you used the same 2" wheels as I did - how are you finding them? I just ordered a set of 4" jobs to make it roll a wee bit easier when loaded.

Thanks. No, castors are 4", it must be the perspective in the pic which makes them look smaller.

There's a fair weight in the whole thing [probably overkill on my part with the 30 x 3mm angle ] and it'd be easy to roll if I didn't have foam tiling on the floor, but as is it's still manageable - on a hard floor yours'll roll fine on the bigger wheels.
at the fire extinguisher comment, and I wasn't even a Boy Scout as a youngster. But a wooden shed....you know..... I can now pull the whole kit and caboodle to the door and weld outside, it'd have to be a "must do this now" before I weld inside

Ah yes - I see now, it's 'cos your setup is much bigger, the wheels look smaller in the pics. Good choice on the 4" ones.
I get back from offshore in a week or so, I am planning sorting the wheels on mine out then,as well as fitting a proper bottle securing device. Next project is a log splitter wheeled stand on 10" wheels, and a set of balcony railings if the weather holds out. I'm also toying with the idea of getting myself a TIG to play with.

A wee update - I managed to lay my hands on a decent ACDC tig welder, so thought I better finish off the cart to put it on.
I re-did the frame for the wheels, to put new bigger 4" ones on. Drilling and tapping the holes for the new castors took a
bloody age, but they're all firmly attached now.
Also added a couple of bars across the back and a couple of gas bottle securing ties (will have to get another two for the bottom bar).
Welded on the mesh shelves rather than the tie-wraps which were on before.
Now it needs a splash of paint again....
One thing I've realised now that there are two units on it - it's far too ******* small! But at least it is steady enough and the gas bottles are in no danger of falling over.
Now I just learn to TIG weld (and MIG weld better).

Another few pics.
The new el-cheapo 9" grinder is great for quickly getting rid of all traces those pesky "shi**y welds", the 4" air jobbie takes a while on the bigger blobs. The 9" is extremely loud, but it does have a soft start, which is very nice.
