Yup. Would have given 200. Taken what I needed faceplate chabgewheels tailstock etc and sold the rest on for a reasonable price to recoup my money.
Cabinet would be grand for similar size Lathes. Rock solid Someone must have been desperate for parts

Or they didn't look properly before they bid...

Original changewheel storage given a quick strip and clean before refitting.

Feels like an age since I made progress here.

Remove the rollers and level it up later.

I got a whole hour today.

Jacked the feet up and pulled the rollers out.
Leveled reasonably accurately for now.
Oiled her up and much quieter now.

Got my new tooling out and stuck it on the qctp 2mm above center. Bugger. Will mill 2mm off all holders Tuesday.
Popped the old holder on. Still 0.8 above but had a play anyway.

First pic after a few light passes.
Second pic 2mm cut so 4mm off the diamiter.
Lathe didn't even notice.
It's rubbing judging by the swarf so il have a better test Tuesday after milling the holders and getting the tool DOC

Next step.
Have a dewhurst switch to site and decide on a power switch and get it ordered.

After that I really need to sort the tumble reverse bracket out.


Need to cut a new threading dial gear. Mines badly worn. Would be nice to have it.

Hopefully I can actually turn some metal next weekend. Spinning top just for fun. Got some 80mm bar so a big one is in order.

I still have bits to sort but nearly there. Pick up a new motor pulley Monday as the one I put on is to big. Got new tooling on way. Should be almost ready to turn

Well that was easy. Had to use the tailstock to lock the saddle. (Will investigate the lock another day. Holds but not under heavy pressure.)
Just a smidge above doc now. Il shave a little more past the point when I do the rest of the holders.

Bigger bar than earlier 50mm
Took a 1 and 2mm pass about 15mm long then took a good 3mm and continued past previous cuts full depth.
Feeding by hand(too much pressure made the belt slip) but on a very fine feed would hog out 6mm deep. (12mm of diamiter) not too shabby for a little lathe.

Finish isn't perfect but the insert had been chipped ever so slightly facing the holder. (Intermittent cuts.)
New insert and a center to support and the finish will be cracking.

Aye was a bit nervous as I approached the untouched bar but kept feeding slowly and it just kept coming off. needs a little more belt tension.

Pleased with the inserts. Work well. Should have gone 10mm shank instead of 12 but facing the holders isn't the end of the world.

No parting tool but already bought a decent one like this

Na. Didn't touch the tools. Took a few mm of the bottom of the qctp holders. Thought it was the easier option

Tis an excellent parting tool. Aquired it for a bargain too.

Prefer the blade type myself but that is because it is mainly big dia I do.
The ones I use now are the Iscar Tang type, they are seriously good

Have plenty of scope for a big tool on the rear post.

MSC do them on special every now an again, blade and 10 inserts for about £100 with VAT.

I may have some bits for your lathe I had 2 of them I think there might be a soft jaw chuck and maybe some change wheels I will have a look next time I'm up the yard
