Yes testing takes awhile. Am still doing that and not 100 percent happy yetCheers boss.
Lots of niggles to snag now I'm testing but nothing major. Mainly tightening gibs adjusting backlash etc.
Feeding by hand one handed above. Much smoother 2 handed.
Yes.Does it not have power feed?
It's stapled at the minute. Have 10 inches of the same belt so might have a go at splicing properly. It's good to see it running. Are you running an open ended belt? They're a pain to fit, but an endless kevlar belt is so much quieter. I fitted one to my Mk2 when I stripped and rebuilt it.
Mines on the fast side too. Will be looking for a 6pole when I order my motor. You can splice kevlar belts in situ without dismantling the headstock providing you use the correct adhesive. I bought mine ready spliced and changed it over when the headstock was stripped. I found the d-dum d-dum noise from the staple really annoying.
3ph sounds good - much more torque. I put a new 3/4hp 1ph in mine but it's a bit gutless and spins too fast throwing all my speeds out. I've just replaced the bushes in my original motor which is a lot heavier and runs at the correct speed to match the plated speed chart. Just need the motivation to swap them over now - it's right a*se to do.
Yup.Lathes are great aren't they
