I don't have any steadies but I think the price may be exorbitant if you can find one. I may have a 4 jaw that's fits the backplate but I haven't had time to look.

Aye. Last job is the change wheel storage and shelf as the motor only fits through that hole. I'll probably repurpose the Louvre doors lurking in the shed.
My cabinet is an oddity. Should have a large louvered access most of the way across the front.

@eLuSiVeMiTe Pics of S&M steadies as promised. The travelling steady is cast iron and the fixed is solid brass. I don't know if the ways are the same on the mk1 & mk2, but if you were to make them yourself you could make them to fit. Hope this helps.

Top man. Much appreciated. Beds look identical too. Believe I can convert mine to a mk 2 if I found the needed bits. There add on parts so will be a few differences. I'll use my tailstock as a gauge when I come to make them. Would be nice if I could keep them close to original.

The beds look the same. I have a mk2 tumble reverse bracket fitted on mine I believe modified to fit. Also have the original minus a mising chunk.

It's a single Vee finger that is adjustable if you look closely.

Quick fix. No more knock. Some very fine shim stock and it will do for now. I'll turn up a new bushing at a later date. Idle curiosity got the better of me so I stuck a DTI on the spindle. Barest flicker of movement rotating by hand. Not bad for a 50s machine.

Cleaned up the leadscrew disengage trigger and working sweet. Been fidling around with the rest of the engagement mechanism and think I've sussed it now. Once the boys are on bed I'll finish it off then hopefully I can fit the apron. I'll splice the belt properly when I'm happy everything's working as intended. For the time being an Alan key with cable heatshrink on it seems to do the job joining the belt clips.

Key had been sheared New one appears to be holding.

Still got handles to polish and pin. Leadscrew to refit. Tumblers to clean and fit and the bed to bolt down. And tighten the gibs
Now there's defiantly an end in sight.
