I fitted one of these Hydroslave haulers to a local boat earlier in the year, I think the owner bought it from Ireland.
It was a roller system rather than a davit, seems to be the way they are going over here, the three Cheetah Cats I will be fitting out early next year (was supposed to be now but Cheetah are running a bit behind as usual
) will have roller systems. It will be Spencer Carter haulers on them though.

Yea they reckon you can get the whelk pots in faster with the davit. One man hauls the pots.think for creeling they prefer the roller system less lifting.

Personally I prefer a Davit, roller systems can be dangerous if the creel comes up the wrong way and no one is paying attention and it can flip over at high speed. There have been a couple of guys here that have been smashed in the face with steel parlour creels flipping up, one guy was knocked out and the wheelhouse windows need stainless bars for protection Then again they tend to be hauling very fast, probably faster than they should
A well designed davit, to my mind, should not really have any lifting as the straps should be the right length that the creel is right up to gunwale level and lifting the strap over the hanging block means the creel just drops to the gunwale.
Everyone to their own I suppose and as it is probably 25 years since I was a Fisherman I just do as they want

You make mallets for Cross-play. Don’t know what it is either.
All recycled wood, old pallet and some of cuts i had in a shed.
Mine is the mahogany one on the left, the 3 round bits are brass rods. The staining has tinted them a bit, but that's how Mini Me wants it.
The other one was hers, it was looking very new and useful. Well it did, until she de-stressed it. A lot.
They look solid, but are not. Something to do with Cross-play event rules on weapons etc, good point.
So that is what you do.
Oh yes, hide the axe from her, she is that mad at boy friend.

it could be cosplay. I still think cros play is near enough. But I am old and grumpy.

I would imagine access for maintenance is a nightmare with that.
I always get too engrossed in the job at hand to take pics but this weekend I made a bit more progress on my brothers Christmas present.
A set of dip bars made out of old semi rotten cattle stalls that I got off my uncle for free. There was enough good bits amongst the rotten bits to do the job.
Not a great material to be working with as it is coated in a heavy galv so I made sure to have the mask on and the doors open when cleaning it up for welding.

Made a mount for the digital tachometer for my lathe .
Found a bit of thin aluminum and cut a hole in it for the display.
Had to be careful not to bend it when filing it out.
Fixed to the base of the mill belt cover.
Then made a bracket for the sensor. It fits inside the belt chamber and has a neodymium magnet stuck to the main shaft pulley.
A quick Frankenstein rig up to test it.
It works ha ha haha.
Bang goes my theory that the belts were slipping, it's spot on what it should be!
