Started with J blast superfine but that wasn't doing a great job and it's mega aggressive. It was attacking the soft cast and paint and filler being bounced off. So then went to chilled iron grit. Bout a 12-16" blasting distance worked just right. Took paint off without removing detail.What's the best media for cast? I've some gates and posts I need done

Nothing wrong with it, from the colour you have allowed it to overheat to 300c+ and the brazed joint has let go. Braze may have a melting of 600-950c but the working temp is only upto 250c, they all loose strength above that. Not many burrs are solid carbide, branded or not.
