Another tool for the fly press this let's us use around 30 other punching tools that's lying around the work shop, I turned the adaptor at the top, then had the bottom part cut on a waterjet then bored out the centre for a snug fit a change from making bird cages

More wood bothering - designed in fusion but I just exported the dxf. You can use the CAM part of fusion to generate gcode directly but it’s a whole new thing to learn. But for more 3D carving it’s probably a necessity.

‘For now I’m still using a recycled pine shelving unit for donor material. Getting hold of nic bits of anything more exotic, even oak, has so far eluded me.

Not today, but rummaged through the off-cuts to make a dummy shaft to get a dual clutch back on a tractor.
I could have used a bigger bit bar for the inner part, but I had a 20mm drill to go with the 20mm bar, and a few wraps of black tape is good enough for alignment purposes, especially when it's a one off job.

MT4 with internal M12 and 22mm M10 internal on the other side. To use my big boring head in the lathe.
Especially proud of my Rongfu mill, the keyway fits perfect.

I was thinking it needs constant lubrication whilst cutting. That and do a cut and withdraw the tool rather than winding the spinning tool back though what you've just cut.

Would it work to do the first cut then stop the lathe and wind the helical jig back to the start. Then fire up the lathe and do the second cut?

The principle is there.

Nice, I think you want to be turning your rotary table (mole grips), more slowly.

It was so wet here in 2005 we had the highest record rain fall for Wales here at the time 48.6 inches by June 2005 .

The 2 ton digger I hired to move live silt & rubble in the August of 2005 was sunk in past it's track tops after being left overnight on disturbed ground . I had to dig and bale by hand for two days to free the tracks enough to heel I toe it free and onto sound ground .

Three years ago I purchased an old 1950/ 60's mahogany single plank 1 & 1/4 " thick French polished coffee table top for £ 34 inc carriage off eBay, 3 x 4 foot oval covered in paint & crud but underneath after scraping it off with plate glass scrapers it was OK for what I wanted Sometimes it's a good place to pick up worthwhile wood .
