It's a scrap yard, but you're liable to find anything there. I'd say the one I saw was about two foot square. I usually visit the place at least once a week just to see if anything of interest has shown up.

Zoiks. A monster. If it's really 2 foot square by say 4 inches deep (more likely 6) then that's going to be North of 500 lbs.

Depends on condition really but in good useable nick, suddenly €2k doesn't look so unreasonable. Would easily be worth well over a grand either way...

Brilliant thanks. Worth taking some nice pics. Those big old things are thin on the ground and like everything else that's old and irreplaceable, becoming quite popular with hobbyists.

I was there earlier today, I intended to take a few photos of it and brought my measuring tape too, but there was no sign of it in the yard. Before I left I was speaking to the owner of the place and he still has it somewhere so it might reappear.

He has one of these anvils there too, and it looks to be in good condition.

Yesterday was a bit too windy for welding on the boat so I chopped up the box, top plate and bracers for the gantry. Today however was fine so I got a bit more done to the shelter deck extension. Hopefully tomorrow will be another calm day and I will hopefully get most of the shelter finished.

Now't special but always nice to turn scrap box bits into something useful.

We have a utility room, they used to be called back spots, outhouse or similar before estate agents realised changing the name added £5K onto a house price.

We have the washing machine, dryer etc in there and the wife does the ironing there but always complained she had nothing to hang the ironed shirts on.

I did think a 6" nail would suffice but the look I got when the suggestion was made helped me decide to get inventive, I also had to accept whatever I made had to be removeable when not in use...at the cost of probably getting lost.....or

A rummage in the bitsa box, an hour later and the result is a foldaway hanger rail.

Well it was when I took the pic but also what you are not seeing is there is a 4ft gap between the pier and the shelter and my knees are shot so I aint jumping

Was nice to have saddle traverse both directions for a change..
My bracket came off a newer model and would only engage one

tumble gear.

Threw together a dolly for my Gabro folder so I can move it round the workshop easily. Just needs some plastic endcaps whacking in.
