The dogs on my Farmertec saw are made of cheese and keep bending, not a huge issue except the chain catcher is mounted there so fairly important its in a sensible position.
Couldnt find any 2.5mm or 3mm stainless in the scraps pile so I found some cheap zoro 4mm O1 tool steel. I'll flap disc it back to 3mm to save a bit of weight. Plasma saved a lot of time.but I need more practise.
Copied the original, but ran out of time tho it fits and useable.

Simply trace your shape/create your shape, offset a line half the diameter of your nozzle/guide, clamp it to the workpiece and have at it. For a few cuts, wood works - just watch for the fire.

Nice to see the giant strides made wrt safety , Back in 1981 I worked at a company making concentrated fruit flavour syrups I had to heave 30 x 5 gall drums of cola concentrate ( 45 kg ) three feet up off the floor on to the 15000 litre vats strainer grill and find where 100 gallons of boiling water ( for dissolving citric acid crystals) was in a small mixing vat by splashing around with an 18 inch long stainless steel ladle to judge how much was in it . Scary stuff and dangerous as the stirrer could be switched on by some one when the safety lid was not in place .

Damp thick hard board is also reasonable.
Tip
Make a gauge .
Cut a but of thick aluminium say 15 mm by 40 mm long as a 10mm or so x 20 mm long step so the flat of the step is the exact distance from edge to the side of the nozzle to the edge of the plasma jet . That way you can quickly set profiles and straight edges with precision every time . ( took me two attempts to work out what I was doing before I made the best gauge
Drill a hole in the unused end so you can fasten it to your plasma cutter so it's not easily lost .
For half a dozen or more intricate lines make the initial hard board profile smaller then cut the right size profile with it then cut the final shape using the newly made a steel profile guide .

You might like to make the securing brackets out of formed flat marine grade stainless steel as they will last about as long as the fence if the fence is cedar ( 30 years or so )

A simple little jig out of an offcut of aluminium angle and a bit of brass:

I made a 3D-printed version (again with brass inserts) of this a year or two ago but I wanted a new one with a different hole size and I figured it would be just as quick to knock it up out of aluminium as it would be to design & print one. This one should be more robust anyway.
The idea is that you clamp a bit of 8 mm (ish) thick wood to it and then drill a 4 mm hole in the edge or face, exactly 4 mm from a reference edge/face. The brass tube on the drill bit ensures the tip of the drill bit goes to a depth of 6 mm and no further, giving about 4.5 mm of 4 mm diameter hole but with no risk of punching through the other side of the thin wood. It'll be used for making boxes with hinged lids like this one:
The jig helps drill the holes in the sides and the lid and then some little 4 mm OD brass tubes are glued into the holes. A 3 mm steel pin then sits in the brass tubes and acts as the hinge pin.
By removing the brass spacer on the drill bit, you can also drill a deeper hole in the lid and insert a longer tube, a small spring (e.g. from a biro) and a longer pin. The lid can then be fitted after assembling the box if desired. This is a good option if you forget to insert the lid when gluing the box together, not that anyone would ever do a thing like that now, would they?

Continuing this I thinned the new dogs to about 2mm except where its threaded for the chain catcher I left at 3.5mm. originals for comparason, the chromed one can be bent by hand easily. The black are comedy oversized dogs?.significantly reduces the usable length of the bar..
I then had a very rushed go at sharpening the chain. Last time out I hit a tiny bit of wire and a nail hidden inside a log which destroyed about a 3rd of the left sided cutters while the right were all near perfect. A new Stihl file wouldnt touch the cutters, possibly chrome plated? Just skated off... So I had to crudely reassemble my chain grinder, that I never finished modifying. Theres so much slop in the pivot you can do it all by eye but every cutter will be slightly different, but it'll do for now...
This is what they started like.. quite a lot to take off

Today I made a boss for a sensor on the DPF of my Alfa 159.
It needed a temperature sensor but when I tried removing the old one, it picked up and completely wrecked the threads.
So took the DPD off, used a hole saw to drill out the old boss and made a new one in 316 stainless.
Then welded it in.
Sensor fits fine, I just have to reinstall the exhaust.
Another one of those 10min jobs that grows arms and legs.

Door seal came off week-old Hoover washing machine. A sock trapped in the door corkscrewed and dragged the seal and retaining ring off. Quick look on YouTube made the refitting look simple. Far from! They must have pee'd themselves laughing after uploading videos? The spring on the retaining ring needs expanding a lot or it keeps flirting off (2hrs wasted). So I needed a giant circlip plier, which I didn't have so I butchered a small qik-clamp in expansion mode. Worked a treat! Lost the screw out of the clamp...hence the roll-pin
