Looks like it’s starting to eat through the plastic near the cap. You might want to cut up an old gauntlet and cable tie it over the torch head next time.

Ok, time to be brave and post the ‘third hand’ I made myself today. Delved into the little scrap pile, and all but one bend was cut part through with the grinder, shaped, then welded closed.

Quite proud of my resulting work, but got over excited with the grinder here and there.

Not just today but the Catcatcher is fitted and a stripper box attached with a hinge to allow it to tilt inboard for storage.

Short section of handrail fitted on the starboard side with a shooting pin incorporated to allow hand balling the creels when loaded up. It also doubles as a base for a hand powered mackerel gurdy.

Port side railings made, still have to fit the rollers for the hand gurdy, not decided how that will be done yet. On the previous boat they clamped over the gunwale so I will have to adapt and make some sockets for this one.

Bracket made for holding a Belitronic jigging machine, the line will go up through the wheelhouse roof overhang to a roller then out via the stripper box on the cat catcher.

You know that point when you run out of hands to keep something in place when you try to weld it. Well, this is that thing. The head acts like your finger holding the bit in place, and the legs...well, they act as legs.

I made a pie today but got to play with my xp 30 air cutting up scrap for dad that thing is incredibe although limited on its cutting but without needing a compressor it's brilliant. Got a three phase one of needed and gas cutting options but in the yard we are normally rough when we cut

Now, just need to turn down 96 billion aluminium inserts and washers for the buggers on the lathe...

Latest gate, forged ends, the vine was all hand worked, accent twists diminish then reverse direction. Rolled the curves on my ring roller too.

my first attempt at metal spinning.....they are the ends of the boiler for a minature toy steam engine I've started making, shown with a £1 coin for scale......with hindsight it would have been easier to turn them from solid, but where is the fun doing things the easy way.

Made my bike bench easier to wipe clean with a nicer surface to work on than rust and dirty oil. Spent a couple of hours with a wire brush cleaning the loose rust, paint and dirt off and gave it a coat of light grey Epoxy Mastic 121. Came out really nice, but the lower half looks shabby now!
