One tip is to make sure your handles are bone dry before fitting.Had anyone got a good guide to re handling tools like hammers, I never seem to get it right and they come loose after a while.
If you buy a handle from a market trader chances are it would have been rained on, then packed away wet and stored in a plastic box till the next market/bootfair where it may get rained on again.
You come along and buy one, fit it to your hammer head where it slowly dries out and becomes loose.
