Found a base off a Wolf valve grinder in the scrapyard for £2 I think it will be ok for a tool cutter grinder. The XY slides only have about 5" movement each way . The column is made from unistrut That was originally guides for a roller shut door that a neighbour was replacing.
, it is fully universal swivelling in all directions, I was originally going to use a double column but a single is very ridged. I don't know what the grinding head will be I might use a small bench grinder. Unistrut will be fixed onto the XY tables to use as T slot and for mounting fixtures.
