SO after not being happy with the finish on my flat bit of wood I took it back out to the garage and re-did the finish.
Much happier with it now though.
And it is finally a desk.
Well, the desky bit is done, I still need to do the cubbyhole bit, originally the design was going to be all on piece but we had a design change so I need to make a small frame to sit on top to support the cubbyholes.

Got on with a bit of welding inside today due to the strong wind in the morning and the rain in the afternoon.
First off it was cut up a sheet of 5mm 5083 on the plasma.
Some of it is for the gunwales and some was to make a bait box which will be welded to the gunwale.
A couple of pics of the said baitbox.
Then I moved on to welding up the Davit that I cut the parts for the last day, still have the roller housing/bracket to weld up but this is the progress so far.
Also got mailed a good pic of a couple of the Cats I have fitted out.

It is indeed but there is no excuse not to have one, doesn't take much skill to make one, I managedTotal CNC envy every time I read your posts Hood <3 Must be awesome being able to titivate a design on a computer and then get an automagical lacky to do the work for you

Made some engine protection bars for my Beemer, and added some extra LED brake lights and turn signals at the back end.
They are painted with Hammerite, which is garbage nowadays, but if I ever finalise the design I will get the rack and engine bars powder coated.

I think they use them on drive ways and paths..... Mix up the stone and resin, chuck it in the hopper bit and drag it along. Set the depth of material with the slide.
It goes down on a base of tarmac or concrete. They trowl it smooth after.
I copied the 30" wide one they already have.

Not really made but modified, fitted my trusty 1989 Claude Butler bike with a 1500 watt hub.
Need to sort out the battery pack, fit the controller, the throttle and new brake blocks!

The advice I've been given is stick with rim brakes or maybe disc brakes on the front.
I'm on about my 5th bike over 10 years or so.... disk breaks are a must
not only are you going much faster, but you're much heavier too
disk front and back really... front has the stopping power, but the rear slows the hub motor which has a lot of centrifugal force
to be fair... try it and see?
my first bike everyone told me it wouldn't work, it would be slow etc. etc..... first test ride in the back garden, in the rain, no brakes at all (had not installed them yet) etc. etc..... I got about 3/4 the way up the back garden before I realised how fast I was going... fell off trying to dodge a wheelbarrow... broke my left arm (very minor fracture)

I know the square route of nothing about e bikes but had assumed they would have a decent amount of re generative braking, obviously not so, live and learn.

1989 CB MTB with 750W wheel and 15Ah of Bosch toolpacks.
In passing, I might mention the brakes are still rim brakes, but as good as I can go with them. No problems have arisen in their use. If the forks had a disc fixing point, I would probably have used it.
