Came down to the workshop at 8:30 as I was bored writing out my invoices and did this. Just 316 rather than the usual F51, 1 1/4" dia, 1:12 taper. 7/8" Whit thread. Will key it tomorrow.
Taper attachment was already set to the 1:12 taper so decided to do it on the manual rather than the CNC.

This was today though 
Just cut the keyway in the shaft I made last night, first pics show the Haimer being used to make sure the taper is true to Z Axis.
Then a couple of pics of the progress and fitted key. Key is actually scrap in my opinion as it is now mostly copper instead of brass but they don't want another made

It is a Chiron FZ12S, almost 30 years old and has some wear in it but still an amazing machine even by today's standards.

Just finished the extension for the shaft tube so a deep sea seal can be fitted, well when I say finished it still needs tig welded but my Argon is up at the place where the Cheetah Cats are so it will have to wait until tomorrow.

So did you stump up for a new tyre or did you lumber it on some other poor soul.
It went against the grain to get the pro`s out on a weekend
Gurt big drain lid we are making to cover a catch pit, truckists may drive over it so its a bit beefy. 4`6" in diameter and grid is 50mmx20mm bar on edge with 10mm spacing pieces set in a 12mm frame. Just the lifting lugs to go on now, its kineavy.

Finished off a 4 way head for the log splitters, hoping it might save a bit of time splitting the next batch of firewood which will mostly be 8 - 12" softwood which will be fine quartered. If I get time it'll get a test run tomorrow before softening the sharp edges (splitting edge excluded of course) ready for a coat of paint.
