Guys. Am I right in saying that on the returns of my box.if I drill three holes on each to tack/plug weld.then tack up the outside..with weld through primer..

Made 48 balustrade panels today, 40*8 flat bar, 16mm square infills. Being welded up here by a very bored man.

My broadband speed has been throttled back after last weeks fault, so I can't upload any photos at the moment until they reset it.
I wanted to make an exercise attachment for power rack. $140USD + delivery for a top of the range model. I picked up the steel for £20 locally and set about making a beefier version to train at home. It's a few bits of steel welded at angles, nothing special, but I'm tickled pink that I finally managed to cut the steel square using my Rage 3 saw. I've had the saw a few years and no amount of clamping or adjusting the saw blade seemed to help. I had resigned myself to the blade deflecting or vibrating during use and it was just one-of-those-things. I never got a clean cut and blamed to saw. I would cut through box section in a couple of minutes and then spend way too much time trying to grind the edges down to give me a square cut. Yesterday I was determined to give it another shot and sort out the wandering blade problem.
Sorry if this is obvious to the experienced ones on the forum.
1) I brushed and cleaned the saw table and went over it with a cloth. No grit to get stuck under the work piece.
2) I used a new saw blade and made sure it was tightened
3) Used a square to make sure that the blade was 90 degrees to the table and fence
4) Place the steel (70*70*5mm box section) on the table (again making sure the surface was clear of debris.) I just wanted to cut the end off
5) Used the supplied clamps to push the steel down on the table and back onto the fence
(At this point I would have gone ahead with the cut and ended up with a **** job)
6) I slid a sheet of paper under the steel at the end to be cut. Hold on - it should be clamped tight onto the table with no room to slide paper under. If it isn't then my cut won't be square.
A quick look showed the first problem: The small steel tables on either side of the rotating table (it's a mitre saw) are lower by 2-3mm. This lets the box section sit at an angle no matter how hard it's clamped down. I added a shim to make up the difference until I couldn't slide the paper under any more. Good.
A clamp at the front holds the steel tight onto the fence. I tightened it up and did the paper test again. Oops. Maybe I over-tightened it, but the edge of the box section nearest me lifted off the table a touch. I loosened the clamp at the front, scrounged for G clamps on the work bench and fashioned another make shift clamp the secure the steel down. All looked good and I went ahead with the cut.
Success!!
The rest of the cuts went as well, include 2 at 45 degrees.
A productive day that will save me countless hours of grinding and swearing in the future.

Am slowly getting there. Plug welded inside. Just got weld up the outsidestairs and finish corners off.

I managed to get it sorted of finished and trial fitted.not over happy with the finish.
