As it was I did not get to eat the cake, as I will not drink the ale.

Trick is to make the cake in layers, bake.
Then cut a bake bean tin size hole in the middle layers, assemble. Then decorate.
Give to small humans, back away as it is converted into crumbs in nano seconds.

Plasma cut some 14mm 316 stainless then finish milled the slots on the Chiron. It will be an alternator tensioner on a boat as there is no way to adjust the normal way due to the pipework not allowing much movement on the alternator itself.
I will be making up a stainless wheel to fit on the bolt.

The stainless I ordered yesterday for the gate arrived today so as I had the plasma shed open I got it thrown up and got the first two parts cut out.

I find the hard dross kills HSS cutters so I grind it back to clean material.Are you using Tungsten cutters? I have very few Tungsten or TTC so I’m loathed to use them.

It is either carbide or powdered metal I use, only ever use normal HSS if I am stuck.

I will consider the carbide cutters next time I plasma cut some steel, grinding back to preserve the HSS puts me off using the plasma.

To save any unwanted posts I am aware how tough Carbide cutters are compared to HSS.
