The words of a true Scotsman
You would be a good Smålänning in my country
Here's Wikipedia's take on that joke/compliment:
Småland - province in the south of Sweden.
"In the 20th century, Småland has been known for its high level of entrepreneurship and low unemployment
Old Swedish encyclopedia Nordisk Familjebok describes the inhabitants of Småland as follows:
the Smålandian is by nature awake and smart, diligent and hard-working, yet compliant, cunning and crafty, which gives him the advantage of being able to move through life with little means.
A running joke local to Sweden, is that Smålandians are very economical, ranging from modestly frugal to utterly cheap. Ingvar Kamprad, founder of IKEA, said that the Smålandians are seen as the Scotsmen of Sweden
so what we have that here. B!!!!y tight, F!!!!n tight, B!!!!Y F!!!!n tight, F!!!!! B!!!!! tight, F!!! that's tight, F!!! that's F!!!!! tight should I keep going
Here is the finished product. Fits nice...a fantastic job. many thanks to pete for his help and support and guidance and allowing me to operate such an awesome machine..Not today, but Sunday just gone I made a tool for cutting a 4tpi Whitworth thread. I wanted to use it in my home made boring/grooving/broaching bar but couldn't find any 5/16" or 8mm HSS, so I trashed a nice 8mm drill bit (after checking it was hardened it's whole length).

This was to make a backplate for Spencer's Empire lathe, so that he could mount one working chuck and make some more himself. Spencer did a lot of the turning but I cut the thread because he didn't want to be responsible for crashing my 10ee, though I did coax him into taking the spring passes to finish it off
As you can see, it cut a very nice thread indeed.

The chuck did clean up really nice and matched the machine..very chuffed...That chuck really looks the part now it's cleaned up. Not over-done so it looks like someone tried to polish it new. It just looks right.
Is that a 10EE? Beautiful looking machine, I've never seen one in the UK. That or a Hardinge HLV would be my dream lathe. Here is the finished product. He's not finished yet, but mocked up pretty well. LED strip inside the "head" and I need to get a couple of bulbs for hands then make a wooden base for him to stand on from some oak I have.
