Got these back from powder coating this morning, wheels, slides, tops, screen mount put on today.
Designed to do a specific task, holding specialist testing gear and tools.
19" rack mounts, keyboard shelf, lockable drawer...

A lot more welding this time! Battery earth cable to chassis tube. M4 screw into double sheet thickness threaded hole. Last ones I made were for brake pipes on the opposite side but I spot welded stainless petrol pipe clips to those.

Lovely!! What would you charge to make some of those for me?? Would love some for a bsa I'm doing, pm me if you prefer.

What sort of size and quantity?

No welding today, hacked a chunk of 15mm alloy into submission on the mill to make a manifold for three pressure switches. These are adjustable to control an automatic gearbox conversion and were left cable tied under the car, let's just jack the car up to adjust them! They will be under the bonnet now and easily accessible. Added a bleed nipple as the last bloke didn't and Dowty seals instead of PTFE tape.

Chopping a stepframe trailer to go with the mini artic on the previous page, taken a chunk out of the step and a few feet out of the length.



Glued it back on today,should be able to loose the step completely with a small ramp. . Bearers, stringers and boards next week.

The trailer being chopped up is the one in the picture below, its 10 feet shorter now ( 32 feet) and the neck reduced in height to suit the mini artic. The idea being that it can go out with just one bit of kit and a van on the back, it can then be dumped on the job so my driver can travel back and forth in the van saving a shed load of fuel. Its aimed at the smaller jobs a fair distance from home that only run for a few days so the truck only goes there and back once.

Today I been making a part of a bulkhead for my project...doing it in two halfs as it's easier for me to form the correct shape. Plus the other side will be different...but this bit will hold the steering rack..still lots to do...

I know lorry's and trailers have to through frequent mot type tests, but does this lorry and trailer have to go through a type of inspection like a commercial IVA once modified?

Yes any chassis or major vehicle mods on HGV`s are notifiable, its no bother though. Just fill in one of these and send of the dosh.

Was that printed as one piece? If so, which way round? On end?

The top with the funnels clips on, the rest was printed with the far end as the base, so the opening on the side was vertical (and the top was printed in mid-air, which is fairly surreal to watch)
