I did think about that but can have some quite heavy bits of pipe I want to cut up to make stands for grinders etc so wasn't sure how stable it would be with just the one leg.
The adjustable feet on the front should take out any wobble hopefully
Also going to put a handle on front so I can wheel it around.
Frame finished, welding improving as I remember how to dial it in a bit better
Now back off to make wheels and feet. Got some EN16T that I will use to make little stub axles for the wheels to run on, assuming I can:
a) manage to turn it in the lathe
b) manage to get enough heat in it to weld with the MIG.....

Yup. Was using eurocrates before stacked up but sods law dictates what I want is always at the bottom

I promise my post here tomorrow will be welding related (will be making the frame for a sewing table), but today, I bought myself a cheap computer desk to sit in the livingroom.
Problem was that it looked weirdly orange, as oppose to pretendy wood colour it was meant to, and I did not like it. Solution was to cut some split leather I use for lining belts, to fit the top. I then cut some thin wood edging to let the leather sit into the top, then tidied it up with a bit filler. I will then gently sand it tomorrow, a bit stain, another sand, and job done.
Not a big job, but happy with how it looks now.

I’ve been working on a sewing area too, for my mum.
That there chest of drawers has to slide out as the mains water isolator is behind it (although I’ve fitted one of those remote jobbies on the other side of the wall so unlikely access will be needed often). So supported the worktop on a couple of oak legs.
Made these thingybobs with hidden screws to fix the legs:
Seems rock solid so pleased with it. Is there anything like this commercially available I wonder? I couldn’t find anything and needed them quick anyway.
Didn’t like cutting wood on the centre lathe though couldn’t think of another way to do this accurately.
I suppose there’s a woodworking machine for this but I haven’t come across one yet. Tenoner?

Nice. I used something similar (but less pretty) for the bench legs for the bench my mill (and at the time mini-lathe) sits on. The back of the bench rests on some wood bolted to the wall; the front rests on scaffolding poles, which are attached to the bench with aluminium cylinders. They have tapped holes to hold them to the scaffolding & are screwed to the bench at the top & bolted to rawlbolts in the floor.
When I made them I hadn't bought the lathe or mill yet so it was all done with a drill, but it works very well. Yours look a LOT better though!

I’d have cocked them up drilling them freehand. Then again, I measured something wrong (consistently on each leg at least) and ended up using thin rubber to pack out at the bottom. I congratulated myself on the design feature, the worktop is basically rubber mounted now and allows for misalignment and sewing machine vibrations. Ahem.
