The electronics has an encoder which is run off the head stock in the back of the lathe which then calculates the stepper motor speed based on the gear ration and stepper micro steps setup on the Stepper driver and in the controller. this is not my design but rather https://github.com/clough42/electronic-leadscrew/wiki - I just followed along
Blimey photos of the lathe required.Mt 5
That's pornography must be censoredSome big swarf. Haven’t used my 62mm drill in awhileView attachment 211285
I made someone very happy today
visited them last year, they were off the mark by country mile
Enforcement action taken and advice given
Today they thanked me much. Significant improvements to their business, safer happier staff and better way of doing things
They thanked me for doing my job !!
(doesn’t happen very often)
The bores aren’t too bad but as you’ve guess it’s becoming a coffee table.
For a coffee table you need V12 ,if Jaguar is betterI've a scrap flat 4 Subaru engine also destined to become a coffee table. It's been buried in the corner of a shed for 15 years but I will get around to it someday....!
It's the same shed that has the box of round tuits.
Been making these while pottering about after an operation. All made from a recycled car bonnet.
Oh that’s one of the new Taiwanese Harrison’s. What’s it like?Small, non cnc Harrison lathe is MT5. Bigger Harrison Alpha cnc lathe is MT6. Pity the Kennametal Hts drills are so frigging expensive,as they drill exceptionally quickly,no pilot hole required. View attachment 211433View attachment 211434View attachment 211435
Not bad to be fair. Couple of little things needed to be adjusted in the beginning, but all good now. The accurite Dro on the manual lathe is pretty clever. Gives you constant surface speed etc....Cnc lathe has been spot on from the start, about 6 months old now.Oh that’s one of the new Taiwanese Harrison’s. What’s it like?
It's a pity about the blaze being interpreted as empty space. It looks a little strange.
